The following guidelines/recommendations are suggestions only. All our members can conduct their program and implement rules they so choose to use in their battles without ABB’s approval.

Who Organizes the Local, County, and State Contests?

Local individuals and committees should:

  1. Be comprised of school reading specialists, librarians, school administrators, teachers, and parents.
  2. Individuals and/or committee members oversee the collection and distribution of information, questions, and book lists.
  3. We suggest that committee members oversee public relations, provide sample articles to local participants for inclusion in their newspaper, radio spots, and information appropriate for local distribution, as well as, keep a yearly scrapbook for historical purposes from clippings, photos, and other items provided by local participants and photos taken at their events.
