Procedure Example:
The teams are pre-selected prior to the event by the local coordinators. On the day of the event the children will find their name on a posted sign that lists the name of their mascot/pennant along with other team members. The teams then become acquainted, choose their captain, pick up their mascot/pennant, and have morning snacks, if provided.

The Timekeeper/Scorer/Judges, readers, sponsors and other tournament staff should meet together during the continental breakfast to go over rules and procedures. Question packets are to be handed out at this time and should be reviewed for any problems with pronunciation or accuracy. (The questions have been proofread carefully.)

During the rounds the information center will be activated where messages can be left, scoring is recorded, and a set of the books on the reading list will be on hand. As the results for the rounds come into the information center, the winners are posted on the tournament score sheet.
