:: How Battle of the Books Works? ::

Who Organizes the Local, Regional, and State Contest?

Local committees shall:

1. Be comprised of school reading specialists, librarians, school administrators, and teachers.
2. The Committee oversees the collection and distribution of information, questions, and book lists.
3. The Committee shall oversee public relations, provide sample articles to local participants for inclusion in their paper, radio spots, and information appropriate for local distribution. This individual will also keep a yearly scrapbook for historical purposes from clippings, photos, and other items provided by local participants and photos taken at the state event. Important: Feed local public relations to legislators and local politicians!
